There's been a lot of articles in the Scottish newspapers and discussion on social media about the impact of the NC500 on the lives of people living along the route of this heavily marketed tourist road. Sadly, the NC500 has attracted a lot of people who are only interested in driving its length without spending enough time stopping to explore the landscapes that they are passing through.
To let you understand why you shouldn't rush through this part of Scotland, we've made a video showing you all the things you could do as day trips using just one small corner of the NC500 as your touring base. In this case, we chose the region of Assynt to be our centre of operations whilst we spent a week filming just a few of the things you can do in this area of the NC500 route.
