The Literary Pub Tour is now an institution in Edinburgh and has been running since 1996. A couple of guides take you along the streets of Old Town and New Town to the pubs where Scotland's most famous writers used to have a pint and search for inspiration. Famous authors include Robert Burns, Muriel Spark, Sir Walter Scott, Robert Louis Stevenson and familiar names from the present day, such as Irvine Welsh of "Trainspotting" fame.
This is a two-hour walking tour that involves a little drinking as well! Highly entertaining.
