The National Gallery of Scotland is situated in the middle of Princes Street and its easy to identify with its grand columned entrance way. It is home to Scotland's greatest collection of European paintings and sculpture from the Renaissance to Post-Impressionism, and is one of the very finest galleries of its size in the world.

Even if you aren’t an art lover, this Gallery is worth visiting for the sheer opulence of the interiors. Wonderful rich red walls and leather chairs complement the classical paintings in their ornate gold frames.

You don’t have to be knowledgeable about art to find something that you will recognize. There are always some world famous exhibits such as Antonio Canova's statue of the “Three Graces”.
