TESTIMONIALS

"Over 100 pages with hundreds of links. It's an entire guide book! I truly am without words. I was expecting maybe 5-6 pages for each week. I have to say that I feel very, very guilty at the small amount we paid for the wealth of information you provided."

Deborah, St Louis, Missouri. Read Deborah's Blog

"Would recommend this website to anyone who is travelling to Scotland"

Vyvette Crompton on www.ExtraMileScotland.co.uk

"I am delighted with my purchase of your Scenic Scotland 7 days tour, wish that I had found your website sooner. I would have saved many hours of uneducated web surfing and comparisons."

Dr. Jacinta Meharchand, Toronto, Canada.

"The Tours look great...Your site was the best all round site I found during my search."

Scotland Tours >> Browse Scotland Tours >> Iconic Tours >> 9 Day Skottland Tour for SVT Television

If you watched the Anja Kontor's tour of Scotland on SVT Television in Spring 2009, you may be wondering how you can find the places that she visited.

Well we know exactly where she went and where she stayed, because Secret Scotland created the Tour Itinerary for Anja Kontor.

You can now follow the same route and discover the same places by buying this Tour Itinerary which we prepared especially for SVT Television.

PLEASE NOTE: After payment, you will instantly receive an email that enables you to download your Scotland Tour Itinerary.

Day 1 – Arrive in Edinburgh where we provide you with a guide to the city and a choice of walking routes for exploring its attractions. The guide also includes directions for day trips that cover:
• the nearby castles of West & East Lothian,
• a journey south to Rosslyn Chapel and the Borders,
• details of various day trips from Edinburgh by bus or train.

Overnight in Edinburgh.

Day 2 – Head west from Edinburgh with options for a visit to Stirling with its distinctive castle, famous battlefields and the Wallace Monument. From Stirling, you start on a route that takes you through the Trossachs. After the Trossachs, you travel to the Atlantic coast along the shores of lochs and end your journey in the busy harbour town of Oban. The guide recommends a choice of excellent seafood restaurants in the Oban area.

Overnight in Oban area.

Day 3 – You only have a short drive today, so you may wish to spend the morning on a whale spotting cruise. Our route directions take you north, and give you the option of a detour into the moody valley of Glen Coe. A choice of routes then guides you to Fort William where you can spend the afternoon visiting Harry Potter film locations, walking in Glen Nevis or taking a cable car up a mountain for views across to Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Scotland.

Stopover in Lochaber area.

Day 4 – The route that we propose is only 2 hours. This leaves you enough time to schedule in some visits to attractions such as the iconic Eilean Donan Castle, or a detour to drive up a dramatic mountain pass to a viewpoint that we consider to be among the best in Scotland.

We provide directions for a tour of Skye, but recommend that you allow another day for this.

Stopover in Lochalsh or Skye.

Day 5 – Today you embark upon a great scenic drive through the mountains of Wester Ross. We provide a choice of routes that give you the option for a longer coastal drive around the remote Applecross peninsula.  You can end this day with a visit to the famous Inverewe Gardens or some great sandy beaches.

Stopover in Gairloch area.

Day 6 – The road to Inverness is a fast drive, but this itinerary also provides options to extend the journey with walks in the ancient forests of Glen Affric. Thereafter we guide you down to the shores of Loch Ness and onto Inverness and the pretty villages of the Black Isle.

Stopover in Inverness area.

Day 7 – Inverness Day Trips - We provide a selection of day trips from Inverness that take you to:
• Loch Ness for a round trip tour of the Loch,
• Glen Affric, where you can see the last remains of the Ancient Caledonian Forest,
• Dunrobin Castle & the pretty villages of the Black Isle
• The Moray Coast, a historically rich landscape.

Stopover in Inverness area.

Day 8 – Our directions lead you to Culloden Battlefield, and Cawdor Castle before heading south to the Spey Valley with its famous whisky names. Your journey ends in one of the picturesque villages of Royal Deeside. Optional routes are provided for exploring the distilleries of Speyside, OR for taking a tour of Deeside to visit some well preserved castles that are complete with furnishings.

Stopover in Royal Deeside.

Day 9 – Today you return to Edinburgh via a scenic mountain pass. Heading south, you have options for:
• a visit to the  palace where Scotland’s Kings were crowned,
• a journey break at the city of Perth,
• or you can wander the corridors of Mary Queen of Scots' country palace.
