TESTIMONIALS

"Over 100 pages with hundreds of links. It's an entire guide book! I truly am without words. I was expecting maybe 5-6 pages for each week. I have to say that I feel very, very guilty at the small amount we paid for the wealth of information you provided."

"Would recommend this website to anyone who is travelling to Scotland"

"I am delighted with my purchase of your Scenic Scotland 7 days tour, wish that I had found your website sooner. I would have saved many hours of uneducated web surfing and comparisons."

Dr. Jacinta Meharchand, Toronto, Canada.

"The Tours look great...Your site was the best all round site I found during my search."

Scotland Tours >> Browse Scotland Tours >> Whisky Tours >> 10 Day Whisky Tour

A tour itinerary for enthusiasts of Scottish Whisky with visits to distilleries that exemplify the different characteristics of the Highland, Speyside and Island whisky regions. Of course it’s not just about whisky, you will also find directions to discover Scotland’s best castles, seafood cuisine and the dramatic scenery of the west coast of the Scottish Highlands.

PLEASE NOTE: After payment, you will instantly receive an email that enables you to download your Scotland Tour Itinerary.

Day 1 – Starts with a visit of Edinburgh to enjoy the atmosphere of the Capital. We propose an introduction to Whisky by visiting the Scotch Whisky Experience. We also guide you to a great whisky shop and an exclusive bar where you’ll find a vast range of Malts to choose from.

The guide also includes some options for day trips around the surrounding area by car, bus or train.

Stopover in Edinburgh.

Day 2 – The tour heads north from Edinburgh and into Perthshire, where you can start your distillery visits. The guide also includes directions to a charming 17th century village and the country Palace of the Stuart Kings.
This day ends in Pitlochry and we have provided some options for short trips from here to a nearby castle and a very scenic lochside drive.
Stopover in Pitlochry / Aberfeldy Area

Day 3 – You follow the path of an old military road towards the castle country of Royal Deeside. The whisky experience today is a visit to the very picturesque distillery that Queen Victoria liked so much she gave it a “Royal Appointment”. This day also features an optional route for a drive along the path of the River Dee to visit some picturesque and well preserved Castles.
Stopover in Royal Deeside

Day 4 – After crossing the Cairngorms, you descend into the Spey Valley where you’ll never be too far from a whisky distillery. You may recognise some of the names along the route: Aberlour, Glenfiddich, Glenlivet, Glen Grant, Macallan…
We provide details of how to book into some of the region's connoisseur whisky tasting tours.
Stopover in Moray Area

Day 5 – A short drive along the Moray Coast takes you from Elgin to Inverness, but you will find lots of places of interest to break the journey (e.g Culloden). If you still have time, you can squeeze in a visit to the distillery that makes the Scots’ favourite Malt. Alternatively, you might wish to join a dolphin spotting tour.
Stopover in Inverness / Black Isle Area

Day 6 – Relax from the driving and explore the many attractions around Inverness. We provide a selection of day trips from Inverness that take you to:
• Loch Ness for a round trip tour of the Loch,
• Glen Affric, where you can see the last remains of the Ancient Caledonian Forest,
• Dunrobin Castle & the pretty villages of the Black Isle

Stopover in Inverness / Black Isle Area

Day 7 – Starts with a drive along Loch Ness and the Great Glen to get to the Isle of Skye, where you can end your day by trying the distinctly dry & spicy tasting Talisker whisky at its source.

Stopover on Isle of Skye

Day 8 – To do the Isle of Skye justice, we propose a second day of sight-seeing on the island. We provide a route to see dramatic scenery, explore remote corners and learn about some of its legends, such as the Fairy Flag. The directions include suggestion for walks and boat trips.

Stopover on Isle of Skye

Day 9 – And we return to the mainland with options to go via the Skye bridge or the more romantic sea crossing to Mallaig. Today’s travelling takes you to Argyll and the area around Oban, but we have suggested some detours and alternative roads so that you may visit parts of Scotland that most tourists bypass.

Stopover in Oban / Appin Area

Day 10 – Return to Edinburgh or Glasgow where you can spend the last day of your tour taking in some more of the sites, pubs and restaurants that are recommended in our guide. The return route to the cities includes the option of a longer journey through Glen Coe or a more direct westward passage.
