TESTIMONIALS

"Over 100 pages with hundreds of links. It's an entire guide book! I truly am without words. I was expecting maybe 5-6 pages for each week. I have to say that I feel very, very guilty at the small amount we paid for the wealth of information you provided."

Deborah, St Louis, Missouri. Read Deborah's Blog

"Would recommend this website to anyone who is travelling to Scotland"

Vyvette Crompton on www.ExtraMileScotland.co.uk

"I am delighted with my purchase of your Scenic Scotland 7 days tour, wish that I had found your website sooner. I would have saved many hours of uneducated web surfing and comparisons."

Dr. Jacinta Meharchand, Toronto, Canada.

"The Tours look great...Your site was the best all round site I found during my search."

This tour itinerary will appeal if your objective is to see as much of Scotland as you can within 4 to 5 days, but without having to drive more than 3 - 4 hours per day. The route starts from Glasgow and passes the famous sites of Loch Lomond, Glen Coe, Ben Nevis, Eilean Donan Castle, Skye, Loch Ness, the Cairngorms, the Trossachs, Stirling Castle and Edinburgh.

PLEASE NOTE: After payment, you will instantly receive an email that enables you to download your Scotland Tour Itinerary.

Arrive in Glasgow – We provide a brief guide to the city's main attractions. Directions are also provided for a short drive to the shores of Loch Lomond, so you have the option of a stopover in this area.

Day 1 – Start your tour of the Highlands with a drive along the banks of Loch Lomond before heading across the wild open spaces of Rannoch Moor to Glen Coe. After passing Ben Nevis, you follow a route to the mountains of Wester Ross and the distinctive Eilean Donan Castle. We guide you to the Skye Bridge, but you may wish to fit in a detour to see a very pretty fishing village before crossing into Skye. We provide directions for a tour of Skye, but warn you not to try to drive around the whole island as you really need a full day for this.

Stopover in Lochalsh area or Isle of Skye

Day 2 – We provide directions for a morning of exploring Skye. In the afternoon you start the drive to Loch Ness, but along the route we suggest a detour to one of the best mountain viewpoints in Scotland. We give you a choice of routes to drive from Loch Ness to Inverness. Once in Inverness you can follow our directions for exploring the pretty villages of the Black Isle, or else drive along the Moray Coast to visit Culloden battlefield and the many other interesting historical sites.

Stopover in Inverness area

Day 3 – The itinerary takes you to Culloden Battlefield, Clava Cairns (an ancient burial chamber) and Cawdor Castle before heading south to the Spey Valley with its famous whisky names. Continuing south, you are guided past the Cairngorm mountains and through the Scots Pine trees of the Rothiemurchus Forest. Your journey ends in a pretty Victorian town with a good choice of tourist attractions nearby, including 2 whisky distilleries.

Stopover in Pitlochry area

Day 4 – Today’s route takes you along the shores of Loch Tummel & Loch Tay, with opportunities for stopping at several pretty villages where you will find thatch roofed cottages and waterfalls. Heading southwards, you pass through the Trossachs and may wish to follow our directions for a detour that lets you take a steamboat cruise. En route to Edinburgh, you have the option to visit Stirling castle.

For stopovers in Edinburgh, we provide a choice of walking routes for discovering the City. The guide also includes some options for day trips around the surrounding area by car or bus / train.
