TESTIMONIALS

"Over 100 pages with hundreds of links. It's an entire guide book! I truly am without words. I was expecting maybe 5-6 pages for each week. I have to say that I feel very, very guilty at the small amount we paid for the wealth of information you provided."

"Would recommend this website to anyone who is travelling to Scotland"

"I am delighted with my purchase of your Scenic Scotland 7 days tour, wish that I had found your website sooner. I would have saved many hours of uneducated web surfing and comparisons."

Dr. Jacinta Meharchand, Toronto, Canada.

"The Tours look great...Your site was the best all round site I found during my search."

Scenic Tour 4 Day

Scenic Tour 4 Day

Scotland Tours >> Browse Scotland Tours >> Scenic Tours >> 4 Day Scenic Tour

This tour itinerary will appeal if your objective is to see as much of Scotland as you can within 4 to 5 days, but without having to drive more than 3 – 4 hours per day. The route includes some of the famous sites of Scotland; Stirling Castle, the Trossachs, the Cairngorm Mountains, Loch Ness, Eilean Donan Castle, Loch Ness, Skye, Glen Coe and Loch Lomond.

PLEASE NOTE: After payment, you will instantly receive an email that enables you to download your Scotland Tour Itinerary.

Arrive in Edinburgh – We provide a choice of walking routes for discovering the Capital City. The guide also includes some options for day trips around the surrounding area by car, bus or train.

Day 1 – We provide 2 route options for the drive to Pitlochry:

Option 1: Heads west for a visit to historic Stirling and the many Lochs of the Trossachs National Park, where you can take a trip on a Victorian Steam boat. After the Trossachs, you drive, via Loch Tay, to the charming Victorian village of Pitlochry. The route includes opportunities for tours at 3 different whisky distilleries.

Option 2: Takes a more direct route north that crosses over the Forth estuary into Fife. On the way to Pitlochry, we suggest detours to 2 pretty conservation villages where you can visit a country Palace or the ruins of a picturesque Cathedral.

Stopover in Pitlochry area

Day 2 – From Pitlochry, the route heads north through the Rothiemurchus forest and along the paths of the Rivers Garry and Spey as they flow through the Grampian and Cairngorm mountains. On this day you can visit some spectacular castles and learn about the tragedy of the 1745 Jacobite rebellion at the hauntingly sad battlefield of Culloden Moor.

Stopover in Inverness area

Day 3 – Starting with a drive along the shores of Loch Ness, you then turn westwards to the wilderness of Wester Ross and the mountains of Kintail. The route passes the distinctive Eilean Donan castle and then we guide you to the Skye Bridge, but you may wish to fit in a detour to see a very pretty fishing village before crossing into Skye. We provide directions for a tour of Skye, but warn you not to try to drive around the whole island as you really need a full day for this.

Stopover in Skye or Lochalsh area

Day 4 – Today’s route takes you through Glen Shiel, where you have a good chance of seeing wild deer, and then rejoins the Great Glen to take you towards Ben Nevis and Fort William. After a short drive along a sea loch, we guide you inland through the dramatic Glen Coe and across the wild empty expanses of Rannoch Moor. We provide directions for returning to either Edinburgh or Glasgow; if driving to Edinburgh you follow a route through the Trossachs, or if going to Glasgow you will be guided along the shores of Loch Lomond.
