TESTIMONIALS

"Over 100 pages with hundreds of links. It's an entire guide book! I truly am without words. I was expecting maybe 5-6 pages for each week. I have to say that I feel very, very guilty at the small amount we paid for the wealth of information you provided."

"Would recommend this website to anyone who is travelling to Scotland"

"I am delighted with my purchase of your Scenic Scotland 7 days tour, wish that I had found your website sooner. I would have saved many hours of uneducated web surfing and comparisons."

Dr. Jacinta Meharchand, Toronto, Canada.

"The Tours look great...Your site was the best all round site I found during my search."

Argyll Seafood Tour 4 Day

Argyll Seafood Tour 4 Day

Scotland Tours >> Browse Scotland Tours >> 3 to 5 Day Tours >> 4 Day Argyll Seafood Tour

Starting from Glasgow, this tour itinerary directs you west to the shores of Loch Fyne, a famous loch for herring and oysters with some excellent seafood restaurants around its shores. The route then heads north to Oban where you can eat dinner by the harbour or take a short ferry ride to the Isle of Mull and a restaurant that has its own fisherman.

PLEASE NOTE: After payment, you will instantly receive an email that enables you to download your Scotland Tour Itinerary.

Arrive in Glasgow – The guide starts with an introduction to Glasgow attractions. It also features directions for a short drive from Glasgow to the villages around the southern shores of Loch Lomond.

Day 1 – From Glasgow, you travel along beautiful Loch Lomond and towards Inveraray. For your first culinary experience, we suggest an excellent seafood restaurant just a few minutes’ drive from Inveraray that originally started as a shed selling oysters beside the road. Continue along Loch Fyne to the lovely harbour town of Tarbert for your first night.

Stopover in Inveraray or Tarbert.

Day 2 – We introduce you to the Seafood Trail today and suggest a few good restaurants and hotels specialising in seafood dishes. Along the road to Oban you can follow in the footsteps of Kings by stepping on the footprint engraved in the coronation stone at Dunadd Fort, cross the Bridge over the Atlantic, and in Oban book into one of the most celebrated seafood restaurants in Scotland.

Overnight in Oban area.

Day 3 – We suggest a second day in the Oban area and provide a choice of day trip options:

  • Day trip to the Isle of Mull, only 45 minutes by ferry from Oban. It’s a must when staying in Oban, as the island has distinctive castles and charming villages. In the evening, return to Oban to try some of our Seafood recommendations, or stay on Mull and dine at the restaurant that has its own fisherman.
  • Day trip on the Jacobite Steam Train. Oban is not far from Fort William, where you can join the "Hogwarts Express" for a steam train ride out to Mallaig. This is one of the world's great scenic rail journeys.
  • Day trip to Sunart. This is a longer drive that takes you into some real wilderness landscapes where you might see otters, pine martens and eagles. The route returns via the "Road to the Isles"and Glenfinnan.

Second night in Oban area, or stopover on the Isle of Mull.

Day 4 – Travelling back to Glasgow via a road that passes through the dark and moody Glen Coe. We provide 2 options for the last leg back to Glasgow. One of them takes a longer drive through the Trossachs, the other follows a more direct route along the full length of Loch Lomond.
