TESTIMONIALS

"Over 100 pages with hundreds of links. It's an entire guide book! I truly am without words. I was expecting maybe 5-6 pages for each week. I have to say that I feel very, very guilty at the small amount we paid for the wealth of information you provided."

"I am delighted with my purchase of your Scenic Scotland 7 days tour, wish that I had found your website sooner. I would have saved many hours of uneducated web surfing and comparisons."

Dr. Jacinta Meharchand, Toronto, Canada.

"The Tours look great...Your site was the best all round site I found during my search."

This is a tour itinerary for visitors who want to pack all the big Scottish attractions into a week long schedule. The route visits: Edinburgh, St Andrews, Cairngorms, Inverness, Loch Ness, Skye, Oban and Glasgow. The itinerary allows for a full day on Skye. You also have the option of taking the Skye ferry & the "Road to the Isles".

PLEASE NOTE: After payment, you will instantly receive an email that enables you to download your Scotland Tour Itinerary.

Day 1 – Arrive in Edinburgh and take in some of the city’s magical atmosphere by following our guide to the city’s many historical, cultural, supernatural, culinary and convivial charms. If the weather is good, try following our directions for walks around the Botanic Gardens or along the leafy riverside pathways of the Leith Walk. The guide also includes a choice of day trips around the surrounding area by car, bus or train.

Overnight in Edinburgh.

Day 2 – Travel north into Fife where you can start on a coastal trail through the pretty fishing villages of the East Neuk. We suggest a journey break in St Andrews, before heading towards Scone Palace and a 1700's conservation village. You may choose to end your day with a whisky tasting in one of the distilleries near Pitlochry, or take a short drive to the very grand Blair Castle.

Should you wish to stay a second night in this area, we have provided directions for a touring route around Loch Tummel and the River Tay valley.

Overnight in Pitlochry area.

Day 3 – A journey north past the foothills of the Cairngorms and into the Spey valley. You may wish to stop to explore some of the forest walks listed in the guide, or to climb the Cairngorms in a funicular train.  From the Spey valley, you speed north to Inverness via one of Scotland’s most enchanting castles. The route passes Culloden Battlefied, where the Jacobite cause was finally and brutally crushed, and Fort George with its impressive fortifications.

The directions also include a short trip from Inverness to the Black Isle, where you can join Dolphin spotting cruises.

Overnight in Inverness & Black Isle area.

Day 4 – Starting with a drive along the shores of Loch Ness, you then turn westwards to the wilderness of Wester Ross and the mountains of Kintail. The route passes the distinctive Eilean Donan castle and then we guide you to the Skye Bridge, but you may wish to fit in a detour to see a very pretty fishing village before crossing into Skye. We provide directions for a tour of Skye, but warn you not to try to drive around the whole island as you really need a full day for this.

Stopover in Lochalsh or Skye.

Day 5 – Discover Skye, a full day touring route around Skye with directions to craft shops, dramatic viewpoints, gentle walks, wildlife spotting locations, the Talisker distillery, tearooms (for the rainy days) and embarkation points for boat trips. More than you’ll be able to fit into just one day.

Stopover in Lochalsh or Skye.

Day 6 –We provide a choice of  2 routes for the journey south from Skye to the lively harbour town of Oban, “Gateway to the Isles”, where some of Scotland’s best seafood restaurants can be found.
• one route takes you on a journey inland that takes you past Ben Nevis and Fort William,
• the other route involves a short ferry crossing from Skye to Mallaig and then a drive along the famously scenic "Road to the Isles".

Along the routes we propose a small detour for a visit to Glen Coe.

Stopover in Oban and Appin area.

Day 7 – We guide you to Glasgow & Edinburgh via the shores of Loch Lomond or you may follow a longer route that visits the distinctive town of Inveraray and then crosses the Cowal Peninsula to return to Glasgow via a small car ferry.

Stopover in Glasgow or Edinburgh
