TESTIMONIALS

"Over 100 pages with hundreds of links. It's an entire guide book! I truly am without words. I was expecting maybe 5-6 pages for each week. I have to say that I feel very, very guilty at the small amount we paid for the wealth of information you provided."

"I am delighted with my purchase of your Scenic Scotland 7 days tour, wish that I had found your website sooner. I would have saved many hours of uneducated web surfing and comparisons."

Scotland is a land of lochs and this Scenery tour takes you from Edinburgh to the Trossachs, Perthshire, Inverness-shire and Argyll by means of a route that includes Loch Katrine, Loch Tay, Loch Ness, Loch Linnhe, Loch Fyne and Loch Eck. The tour travels through the contrasting scenery of Perthshire's fertile farmland and the wild mountains of the Scottish Highlands.

PLEASE NOTE: After payment, you will instantly receive an email that enables you to download your Scotland Tour Itinerary.

Day 1 – Arrive in Edinburgh and take in some of the city’s magical atmosphere by following our guide to the city’s many historical, cultural, supernatural, culinary and convivial charms. The guide includes direction for 3 city walks that explore the Royal Mile and some lesser known areas. We also provide directions for day trips around the Edinburgh area by car, bus and train.

Stopover in Edinburgh

Day 2 – We provide 2 sets of directions for the drive to the Pitlochry area. You have the choice of:
• Heading west for a visit to historical Stirling and the many Lochs of the Trossachs National Park, where you can take a trip on a Victorian Steam boat. After the Trossachs, you drive, via Loch Tay, to the charming Victorian town of Pitlochry.
• A more direct route that travels north through Fife, with opportunities to visit the beautiful country palace of the Stuart kings and queens. This route also features visits to Scone Palace and a ruined cathedral in a picturesque 18th century village.

Stopover in Pitlochry / Aberfeldy area

Day 3 – Travel north towards Inverness, on a route that follows the paths of the Rivers Garry and Spey as they flow through the foot hills of the Grampian and Cairngorm mountains. There are some lovely woodland walks in this area. You also have the opportunity to take a train up to a mountain viewpoint. Nearer to Inverness, we guide you to Culloden moor and a castle steeped in legends.

Stopover in Inverness / Black Isle area

Day 4 – Relax from the driving and explore the many attractions around Inverness. We provide a selection of day trips from Inverness that take you to:
• Loch Ness for a round trip tour of the Loch,
• Glen Affric, where you can see the last remains of the Ancient Caledonian Forest,
• Dunrobin Castle & the pretty villages of the Black Isle.

Stopover in Inverness / Black Isle area

Day 5 – Cross the country from east to west via Loch Ness and the Great Glen. You can follow the “Nessie” trail or take a lesser known road for a more peaceful experience. From Loch Ness our route takes you to Argyll where you can experience a very different type of coastline from the east. The directions for today contain several choices of alternative route so you can select to explore places such as Glenfinnan and Glen Coe. The journey ends in the lively harbour town of Oban, where we can recommend several good seafood restaurants.

Stopover in Oban / Appin area

Day 6 – Oban Day Trips: We suggest a second day in the Oban area and provide a choice of day trip options:

Day trip to the Isle of Mull, only 45 minutes by ferry from Oban. It’s a must when staying in Oban, as the island has distinctive castles and charming villages. In the evening, return to Oban to try some of our Seafood recommendations, or stay on Mull and dine at the restaurant that has its own fisherman.
Day trip on the Jacobite Steam Train. Oban is not far from Fort William, where you can join the "Hogwarts Express" for a steam train ride out to Mallaig. This is one of the world's great scenic rail journeys.
Day trip around Argyll to Inveraray. A tour route along one of Scotland's best roads for coastal scenery. This route takes you past Iron Age burial sites & standing stones, as well as visiting the lovely 1700's town of Inveraray with its ornate castle.

Second night in Oban area

Day 7 – Return to Edinburgh or Glasgow where you can spend the last day of your tour taking in some more of the sites, pubs and restaurants that are recommended in our guide. The route to Glasgow goes via Loch Lomond, and the route to Edinburgh includes the option of a visit to Stirling Castle.
