TESTIMONIALS

"Over 100 pages with hundreds of links. It's an entire guide book! I truly am without words. I was expecting maybe 5-6 pages for each week. I have to say that I feel very, very guilty at the small amount we paid for the wealth of information you provided."

"I am delighted with my purchase of your Scenic Scotland 7 days tour, wish that I had found your website sooner. I would have saved many hours of uneducated web surfing and comparisons."

"The Tours look great...Your site was the best all round site I found during my search."

Scenic Tour 6 Day from Edinburgh

Scotland Tours >> Browse Scotland Tours >> 6 to 8 Day Tours >> 6 Day Scenic Tour from Edinburgh

Starting in Edinburgh and ending in Glasgow, this Scenic tour travels through the Trossachs National Park to the Victorian village of Pitlochry before heading North to Inverness and West towards Skye and Oban. Along the route you will be guided to breathtaking viewpoints as well as castles, distilleries, historic sites and our favourite pubs/restaurants.

PLEASE NOTE: After payment, you will instantly receive an email that enables you to download your Scotland Tour Itinerary.

Day 1 – Arrive in Edinburgh and take in some of the city’s magical atmosphere by following our guide to the city’s many historical, cultural, supernatural, culinary and convivial charms. If the weather is good, try following our directions for walks around the Botanic Gardens or along the leafy riverside pathways of the Leith Walk. The guide also includes a choice of day trips to the surrounding area by car, bus or train.

Day 2 – Leave Edinburgh to travel west for a visit to Stirling Castle before embarking on a scenic route through the rolling hills & lochs of the Trossachs.  From the Trossachs to Pitlochry, you are guided on a route that passes mountains, waterfalls, pretty villages and distilleries.

Stopover in Pitlochry area

Day 3 – The day starts with the chance to visit the castle which boasts its own private army. Further north, the route passes through the beautiful Rothiemurchus Forest and travels along the western edge of the Cairngorm Mountains. The day ends in the Inverness area after a journey that passes one of Scotland's most interesting historical sites, Culloden.

If you arrive in Inverness early, you may wish to follow our directions for a tour of the Black Isle.

Day 4 – You start with a drive along the northern shores of Loch Ness, but we don't stay with the main tourist trail, and instead we guide you into the dramatic scenery of Wester Ross to show you some of our favourite viewpoints.

We also provide an alternative set of directions that follow a more direct route along the Great Glen before turning west towards the mountains of Kintail and Eilean Donan Castle.

On arrival at Lochalsh, you may manage to include some sightseeing time on Skye. The itinerary includes a touring route of the island, however, we recommend that you allow at least 1 full day to see Skye.

Stopover in Lochalsh or Isle of Skye

Day 5 – Return to the mainland with options to go via the Skye bridge or the more romantic sea crossing to Mallaig. Today’s travelling takes you past Glencoe to Argyll and the area around Oban, but we have suggested some detours and alternative roads so that you may visit parts of Scotland that most tourists bypass.

The journey ends in the lively harbour town of Oban, “Gateway to the Isles”, where some of the best seafood restaurants in Scotland are found.

Stopover in Oban / Appin are

Day 6 – Travel back to Glasgow via Loch Lomond or along a quieter route past the peaceful shores of Loch Eck, with a possible stop at a great little pub where you can enjoy a drink whilst cooling your feet in the Loch.
