TESTIMONIALS

"Over 100 pages with hundreds of links. It's an entire guide book! I truly am without words. I was expecting maybe 5-6 pages for each week. I have to say that I feel very, very guilty at the small amount we paid for the wealth of information you provided."

"I am delighted with my purchase of your Scenic Scotland 7 days tour, wish that I had found your website sooner. I would have saved many hours of uneducated web surfing and comparisons."

Dr. Jacinta Meharchand, Toronto, Canada.

"The Tours look great...Your site was the best all round site I found during my search."

Romantic Tour 14 Day

Scotland Tours >> Browse Scotland Tours >> 12 to 14 Day Tours >> 14 Day Romantic Tour

A tour itinerary of Scotland with the emphasis on romantic locations and fine cuisine. This tour heads north from Edinburgh to navigate the country via the fairytale castles of Royal Deeside, the unspoilt beauty of Caithness and the varied scenery of the west coast with its haunting landscapes of mountains and islands.  An ideal tour for a Scottish Honeymoon.

Your Guide will be instantly available to you by email after credit card payment.

Day 1 – Arrive in Edinburgh and take in some of the city’s magical atmosphere by following our guide to the city’s many historical, cultural, supernatural, culinary and convivial charms.
Stopover in Edinburgh

Day 2 – We propose that you spend your morning in the city, and if the weather is good, try exploring the walks around the Botanic Gardens or along the leafy riverside pathways of the Leith Walk. In the afternoon the tour heads north from Edinburgh and passes through the Kingdom of Fife via the quaint fishing villages of East Neuk to arrive at St Andrews.
Stopover in St Andrews / East Neuk Area

Day 3 – Our route takes you across the Tay and then northwards via Scone Palace where Scotland’s Kings were traditionally crowned. Continue North and into the area known as Royal Deeside because of its popularity with the Royal family. The area is also home to some of Scotland’s most romantic castles.
Stopover in Royal Deeside

Day 4 – Is a journey to the heart of the Speyside whisky region. We have proposed a route that passes some of the area’s famous distilleries.
Stopover in Moray Area

Day 5 – Takes you to Inverness, capital of the Scottish Highlands, via Macbeth’s castle to discover the romance of its gardens and history. Afterwards discover the hauntingly sad site of the battlefield where Bonnie Prince Charlie’s army was savagely crushed, or maybe visit the spooky 4000 year old burial ground nearby.
Stopover in Inverness / Black Isle Area

Day 6 – Is an opportunity to take things easy and explore the Inverness area at leisure. We have also suggested routes that show you Loch Ness, the peaceful villages of the Black Isle or the fairytale castle of the Dukes of Sutherland.
Stopover in Inverness / Black Isle Area

Day 7 – And your route heads across country to the wilderness of the west coast with an option of taking the quiet road through the dramatic Inverpolly Nature Reserve. This is a landscape of lonely mountains and idyllic beaches.
Stopover in Ullapool / Lochinver Area

Day 8 – The route heads south on roads that pass beside great coastlines and lochs as well as through the timeless landscape of the Torridon mountains. Today’s route goes through Gairloch where we can recommend some of the finest restaurants in Scotland.
Stopover in Lochalsh Area

Day 9 – A day for enjoying the tranquillity of the Highlands, or for sightseeing around Skye, Kintail or the remote peninsula of Applecross.
Stopover in Lochalsh Area

Day 10 – We guide you south to the gentler countryside of Argyll, but en route we will give you the option to travel by quiet roads and small ferries and maybe see some film locations that you might recognise.
Stopover in Oban / Appin Area

Day 11 – Staying in the Oban and Appin area we provide you with a choice of short drives or boat trips to explore the best places in Argyll. We also have a good selection of restaurants where you might want to reserve a table for the evening.
Stopover in Oban / Appin Area

Day 12 – On the move again, but still within the area of Argyll, we guide you to one of our favourite fishing villages. You then discover the beauty of Loch Fyne with a visit to the photogenic town of Inveraray and the ornate castle of the Dukes of Argyll.
Stopover in Loch Fyne Area

Day 13 – And we return to Edinburgh. We give you the option of a direct route or a more meandering trail that involves a short ferry crossing over the Clyde. If you are not in a hurry to head back to Edinburgh, you may want to follow our directions to find a gem of a restaurant that is well off the beaten track.
Stopover in Edinburgh

Day 14 – Concludes with a leisurely day to take in the atmosphere of Edinburgh. We have suggested some of our favourite restaurants and attractions so you can choose how to spend the day.
