Day 1 – Arrive in Edinburgh and take in some of the city’s magical atmosphere by following our guide to the city’s many historical, cultural, supernatural and convivial charms.

Day 3 – Visit Stirling, site of historic battles and the excellently preserved Stirling Castle. We then guide you to Perthshire to see the ancient crowning place of Scottish Kings and a lovely conservation village that has changed little since the 1700’s.

Day 4 – The famous Castle country of Royal Deeside and a route that follows an old Military road built to control the rebellious Jacobite Highlanders. We suggest alternative routes that take you away from the busy main roads to explore the forests around the Queen’s Balmoral estate.

Day 5 – Another day to explore the many spectacular and haunted castles of Royal Deeside Alternatively, you may want to follow our directions for a tour of distilleries in the famous Speyside whisky region.

Day 6 – Visit the dramatic cliff top remains of Dunnottar castle and then turn southwards on a route that goes via the childhood home of the late Queen Mother, before arriving in the “Kingdom of Fife”.

Day 7 – Return to Edinburgh via the charming fishing villages of the East Neuk, and then visit the country Palace of the Stuart Monarchs, which is set in a picturesque village that retains many of its 17th century houses.
