Our itineraries come with very detailed route directions, but we would always recommend that you research the route with a Road Atlas in order to get a fuller understanding of what each tour will cover.
You can get a Road Atlas in almost every petrol station or supermarket in Scotland, but, if you wish to buy one in advance, we would recommend the following.
Peter Irvine's "Scotland the Best" has become a bit of an institution in Scotland. He is the self-appointed expert on what is "Best". We don't always agree with his recommendations, but his advice is generally good and the book is worth considering if you plan to spend a large amount of your time in the cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh.
