TESTIMONIALS

"Over 100 pages with hundreds of links. It's an entire guide book! I truly am without words. I was expecting maybe 5-6 pages for each week. I have to say that I feel very, very guilty at the small amount we paid for the wealth of information you provided."

"I am delighted with my purchase of your Scenic Scotland 7 days tour, wish that I had found your website sooner. I would have saved many hours of uneducated web surfing and comparisons."

Dr. Jacinta Meharchand, Toronto, Canada.

"The Tours look great...Your site was the best all round site I found during my search."

Marisa Herring, New Braunfels, Texas, USA

The Burrell Collection is the private art collection of shipping magnate Sir William Burrell, who gifted his collection of over 9,000 works of art to the City of Glasgow in 1944.

The museum is a modern building with bright and spacious areas that house an ever changing display of widely varying works of art. Burrell didn’t just collect paintings and sculptures, his tastes were very varied and you will find tapestries, religious artifacts, medieval furniture, suits of armour and famous works of art by familiar names such as Degas, Cézanne and Rodin.

The building also includes architectural features from the collection which have been integrated into the structure. You can walk through intricately carved arches of stone and see a reconstruction of the drawing room from William Burrell’s home, Hutton Castle.

The Burrell Collection is arguably the best museum in Glasgow and is well worth visiting. It is attractively presented, and you can easily spend a couple of hours browsing around. Young children will enjoy running around in the big open spaces, but most of the exhibits will not appeal to them.
