The Maritime Museum in Aberdeen is centrally located near the Harbour, in the historic Shiprow, which wanders down from Union Street to the harbour.
The Museum tells the story about Aberdeen’s long relationship with the Sea. An award-winning museum, it houses a collection of well presented exhibits covering all aspects of Maritime history and it is the only place in the UK where you can see displays on the North Sea oil industry.
It’s very good, with a wide range of themes and an excellent large scale model of an oil-platform suspended in mid air. Great for families, with lots of information presented in a format that is interesting for all ages and, best of all, it’s free!!!
